History

Hunan is a well-established restaurant that has been in its current location in the RB Food Park for over 20 years, serving authentic Chinese food for both in-house and take-out dining. Over the years the restaurant has become a fixture in the community and has established a good reputation for the best value Asian food in the area. Several different owners have operated Hunan over its lengthy history, with the latest owners taking over in 2006. The new owners have been successful in breathing new life into the restaurant and attracting many new loyal customers.

Ownership

As of March 1, 2006 there was a change in ownership, with three long time restaurant industry veterans taking over the operations. The three co-owners have over 60 years of combined experience operating Asian restaurants. Prior to taking over the reigns at Hunan they operated The Jade House for over 15 years, a very successful chinese restaurant in Chula Vista CA.

The owners manage Hunan using a hands-on approach and put a great deal of care into every step of the business because they care about each customer. Come in and say hi to Anna or Jeannie, one of whom is always in the dining area ready to serve you and answer your questions.

The Kitchen

The chef, Mr Yu, has over 30 years experience creating and preparing delicious and exciting chinese dishes. He oversees every detail in the kitchen and is personally responsible for every item found on Hunan's extensive menu. Mr Yu is driven to perfection and his one desire is to create dishes that will truly delight each customer and keep them coming back for more. No one works harder to satisfy each customer!
